THE Fishy Italian Affair with Spaghetti and Salmon Meat Balls  

Time and again I have mentioned my love for the meaty Salmon fish and the great flavors and benefits the fish offers. Though, I am not a big fan of Italian food and I run away from having anything which has white sauce in it, I decided to pick some wheat flour Spaghetti and team it up with Salmon Meat Balls after successfully creating and gorging the salmon cakes few days back. The meaty fish complements the Spaghetti when served with red sauce and can become a meal in itself .

Let’s learn how to make the dish which is surely going to surprise you.

What You Need  for the Salmon Balls (Makes approximately 10 to 12 balls)

  • Salmon Fish Fillet (250 grams)
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 big onion chopped
  • 1 small capsicum chopped
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp cheese
  • 3 to 4 tbsp cornflour
  • Oil for cooking

Steps To Make:

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
  • Add green chili, garlic and cook for a minute.
  • Add onions and capsicum and cook for some time.
  • Add salt and cook till capsicum turns soft.
  • Let it cool down.
  • Remove skin for the salmon fillet and chop finely with a sharp knife.
  • Add to a mixing bowl.
  • Add the onion and capsicum mix.
  • Add corn flour and black pepper.
  • Let this mixture rest in fridge for half an hour.
  • Make small balls and arrange in a tray.
  • Heat oil in a fry pan and shallow fry the balls till they are crisp from all sides. 
  • Drain and keep the balls aside

What You Need for the Spaghetti :

  • 1 onion chopped finely
  • 7 to 8 garlic cloves chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning 
  • 1 tsp Crushed pepper 
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • 10 to 12 tomatoes pureed
  • Spaghetti about 200 grams cooked as per instructions in packet
  • 10 to 12 Italian basil leaves chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Steps To Make:

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped garlic and onion.
  • Saute till it turns brown.
  • Add tomato puree, crushed pepper, salt, sugar and cook on low flame till the raw smell disappears.
  • Add Italian Seasoning, Basil Leaves and cook for some more time.
  • Finally add the cooked Spaghetti and mix everything well.
  • You can keep some sauce aside to pour over the salmon balls while serving.
  • Our Spaghetti with Meat Balls is ready to serve.
