When I found some really Jumbo Tiger Prawns during my weekend grocery shopping, I grabbed them immidiately because there were only 6 left in the counter.
I got them cleaned up nicely and asked the fish monger to butterfly them for me while packed the heads for my cat who dotes on seafood as much as I do. She was one happy cat that day.
Since, the prawns were special, I decided to barbeque them in tandoor instead of regular frying or putting them in curry. It was an extremely simple recipe which made for a perfect Sunday Starter during lunch. Since, the size of prawns were too large, we had to skip the main meal.
What You need :
Tiger Jumbo Prawns ( 4 to 6 pieces)
Hung Curd 4 tbsp
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Freshly crushed ground pepper
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tbsp tandoori powder
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp freshly crushed ginger garlic paste
1 tsp mint leaves chopped finely
1 tsp green chili paste
salt to taste
Steps To Make:
Marinate prawns in the above ingredients
Keep it aside for 30 minutes
Heat your microwave in grill mode for
Grill your prawns for 10 minutes on each side.
Note : My prawns were really really big in size and hence the cooking time.
Keep checking your prawns so you dont burn them. The cooking time may vary depending on size of prawns.
